Documents required for a mixed marriage
A mixed-marriage file in Morocco requires gathering a set of documents from both the Moroccan and foreign parties, to be submitted to the competent court of first instance or to the adouls.
Documents on the foreign side
- Copy of the birth certificate
- Criminal record certificate issued by the authorities of their home country or country of residence
- Central criminal record certificate for foreigners, issued by the relevant department of the Moroccan Ministry of Justice
- Certificate of capacity to marry issued by their country's embassy, legalized by the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- Certificate of residence and proof of profession and income
- Notarized certificate of conversion to Islam (before adouls), if the future wife is not already Muslim
- Copy of the passport with the entry visa to Morocco
Documents on the Moroccan side
A recent birth certificate, a certificate of residence, a certificate of single/divorced/widowed status as applicable, and a criminal record extract.
Important note
